Lawrence Phelan, Founder

Coming from both a creative and theatrical background, Lawrence understands every part necessary to create a great and engaging project. After working in the film industry for over a few years Lawrence ventured out on his own but quickly started working with multiple emerging writers and directors. Based in Melbourne and working across a diverse range of formats and projects, Lawrence has gravitated towards narrative comedy and drama, exploring Australian stories and bringing them to life.

Throughout his early producing career Lawrence has had some important milestones in the world of short form content. “Kampong Spirit (2022) won MDFF Best Melbourne Short film , “A Rose For Katrina” (2022) was screened at St Kilda Film Festival opening night. “Favor on the Fourth Floor” (2021) garnered CineFest Oz’s best short film nomination. Collaborative TikTok web series “Hot Bread Season 1” was given principal production funding from Screen Australia. Lawrence is currently in post production for his third web series, ‘Last Party of Summer’.

Lawrence has also been producing a theatrical cinema short series for the Pivitonian cinema in Geelong, throughout this series directors are engaged to create a 2 minute pre-show short. This initiative is to foster emerging talent in the area and help creatives show their work on the big screen.

As well as running a successful film and screen business, he is now in development for 3 original narrative TV series. He is eager to continue his producing career by working with experienced producers, production companies and screen agencies. Helping other emerging creators find their voices has always been a priority of Lawrence’s and by taking these next steps in his careers he can continue this.
